FAQ

What do I wear? Is the gear free? Can I bring a camera? This page will answer the frequently asked questions we receive from customers. Please see if this page can provide answers before contacting us.

About the rafting tour

If you fulfill the requirements stated in each tour, anybody can participate.

Gear rentals and photos are all included in the fee. There are no other expenses.

We will require you not to bring anything to the river.
During the tour, each guide will be taking photos of participants. We will not insure any belongings such as smart phones that are lost or broken during the tour.

We will require you not to bring anything to the river.
It will be harder to break if the camera is waterproof, but we will not be able to find the camera if it is dropped in the river. Please utilize the photos our guides take during the tour. Photos taken by guides are free.

If they are healthy, anybody can participate. If you are concerned, please call us or contact us via contact form before reservation.

Yes, you can. You will get wet from river water, so please utilize our complementary sanitary items.

Please contact us to assess if the person concerned can participate.

Yes, you can. During the rafting tour, you will be wearing a life jacket. Please don't be concerned, because you will definitely float.

A rafting boat is for 8 people, but there will be 1 tour guide present for each boat, so there will be a maximum of 7 customers per boat.

Please come to reception before rendezvous time required for each tour. Once it is time, we will start explanations for changing and safety.

About rafting gear

You will be wearing a wetsuit over swimwear, aqua shoes, a lifejacket and helmet. For hot days, you can opt out of wearing a wetsuit and just wear a sports T-shirt and shorts. Please bring your own swimwear, or T-shirt and shorts. Other gear will be provided for free rental.

Yes. Please prepare a strap if you wear glasses. (We also sell glasses straps at base.) Please note we cannot insure breakage or loss.

All necessary gear is all free rental. Please bring your own swimwear and towel. We also have an "empty-handed" set for sale if you have forgotten or not brung swimwear or towels.

You can rent aqua shoes for free. You can also bring your own water shoes if that is more comfortable, but please bring shoes that fit tightly and are hard to come off.

You can wear a wetsuit over your underwear, so you can prepare underwear that you can get wet.

We do have large size wetsuits from foreign brands, in different sizes.

We do have sizes including aqua shoes for preschoolers and over.

About reservation and payment

If your e-mail settings filter out spam mail, the confirmation e-mail may be in that inbox. If a confirmation e-mail does not come for over 3 days, please contact us through contact form or by phone.

If you would like to add more people to the tour, we can fit them in the tour if there are open slots. If you would like to remove participants, please note that there is a cancellation policy from 1 week prior. Regardless of the situation, please contact us as soon as possible.

From June 2022, we can only accept advance payments by credit card, regarding online reservations. We can accept on-site payments for reservations made by phone.

"Temporary reservation" means that the slots available on our website are full, and there is a need for adjustment with other reservations. "Temporary reservation" does not mean your reservation is confirmed. Please wait for Crusoe's staff to call or e-mail you about your reservation.

For reservations made by phone, payments can be made on-site with cash or card. PayPay is also available.

About Crusoe's Facilities

There is a spacious parking lot that can accommodate large buses. There is no fee for parking.

Yes, you can wait in our spacious lobby.

The base, including the locker rooms are air-conditioned.

Crusoe rafting has indoors bathrooms.

There are hair dryers in the locker rooms.

The shower space has hot water. Showers are outside, so they are only for washing off quickly. You will not be able to use shampoo or other products.

It is about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the station to the base..

Convenience store and supermarket are both within 5mins walking distance. There are none on the way from the station to the base.

There is a soba restaurant behind the base, and another restaurant within 3 mins walking distance. Please note that the restaurants may be full during lunchtime.

About BBQ after rafting tour

BBQ is only after your rafting tour. You cannot participate in the tour after drinking alcohol.

Yes, you can.

There are basic condiments at the BBQ site.

Chopsticks, plates, cups, and condiments are prepared at the BBQ site.

About weather on tour date

Tours will be conducted in spite of rain. Tama River's water level is controlled by the dam, so you can enjoy rafting even on a rainy day. In the case of cancellation due to extreme rise of water level or if there is a flood warning, we will contact you.

Tours will be cancelled if the typhoon is passing or there is a warning. We will contact you in case of cancellation. AM tours and noon tours participants will be contacted by 8:00PM the day before, PM tours and late tours participants will be contacted by 8:00AM on the day. We will require cancellation fees if the cancellations made by participants.

Other

Payments will be made on-site for kayaking and SUP tours. You can make the payment by cash, card, or PayPay.
